design exhibition held at Manchester’s
TwentyTwentyTwo venue and
open for four weeks.

BCNMCR will again include a series
of inspirational talks by a collection
of the studios involved in this
year's show.

Brosmind

Brosmind, founded by Juan and Alejandro Mingarro in 2006, is a studio based in the heart of Barcelona.

Their style is fresh and optimistic and always combines fantasy and humour. Their illustrations have been awarded with the most prestigious international awards, such as Cannes Lions, Clio, Eurobest, Graphis, Sol CdeC, Laus and many others.

Although they work mainly in advertising illustration, they often like to develop their own personal projects.

Solo

Solo

Solo is an independent graphic design studio founded in 2011 by Óscar Germade.

They are proud to have worked with respected clients such as Barcelona Design Museum, Simon Miller, The Sunday Times, Phaidon Press and Universidade de Vigo.

These collaborations have allowed Solo's work to be recognised with prestigious international awards such as Laus (Spain) and D&AD (UK). Solo has been responsible for the new design of 'El País Semanal', the Sunday supplement of 'El País' newspaper.

Toormix

Toormix

Toormix is a creative studio born in Barcelona in 2000 directed by Oriol Armengou and Ferran Mitjans. They specialize in design and brand identity and they face their projects with a clear strategic and conceptual vision, always looking for innovative visual approaches.

They also work within their atelier, a parallel space oriented towards research, thinking about their own projects. They have worked with clients such as Desigual, Camper, Spain USA Foundation, H10 Hotels, Barcelona Centre de Disseny, Spanish Ministry of Culture, Barcelona City Council, L'Auditori and chef José Andrés among others.

Laura Meseguer

Laura Meseguer

Laura is a graphic and type designer based in Barcelona. She works on both commercial commissions and personal projects, specialising in book design and other typography projects.

Laura also finds time to teach type design as part of the Master's degree in Advanced Typography at Eina Escola d'Art i Disseny and typography at Elisava. She gives lectures and workshops all around the world. Laura's work has been featured in several publications and exhibitions. She also holds awards from the ADG-FAD (The Art Directors & Graphic Designers Association, Spain).

Atipus

Atipus

Barcelona based graphic communication studio Atipus have made a name for themselves by combining art direction, packaging and web design in order to create a stunningly realized folio of design work.

Founded in 1998. They work across a variety of media and fields, ranging from brand identity to packaging or web services. They believe in conceptual, creative and simple design.

Clase BCN

Clase BCN

Clase BCN are an international Barcelona based graphic design and visual communication studio working in print, fashion, signage, web design and packaging. Founded in 1978 by Claret Serrahima they are a team made up of ten young and multidisciplinary professionals whose work has won a number of awards and been featured in a wide collection of publications.

Eschewing any specific style, the studio very much maintains a holistic approach to the design process and has amassed a crisp and communicative body of work throughout all areas of their practice.

Two Points

Two Points

TwoPoints was founded in 2007 with the aim of doing exceptional design work. Work tailored to their clients' needs, to excite their client's customers, work that has never been done before, work that does more than work.

The core of TwoPoints.Net's network is directed by Lupi Asensio and Martin Lorenz, two graphic designers with German, Dutch & Spanish education and experience.

In 2012 TwoPoints launched their very own design school, 'Design Werkstatt' (or Design Workshop in English) and offers courses in Barcelona and Berlin.

Folch Studio

Folch Studio

Folch Studio is a Barcelona-based design studio founded in 2004 by Albert Folch. The studio works across several media from magazines, posters, visual identities, books and stationery to signage, websites, video and exhibition design.

Folch have been responsible for a wide collection of design work including Apartamento, Odiseo and Tiger Magazines as well as branding work for the likes of Mango, BCN Design week and Cortana.

They have won a number of design accolades including Laus and DesignWeek awards.

Forma & Co

Forma & Co

Forma & Co is an independent design studio from Barcelona dedicated to graphic communication. Founded by Joel Lozano and Dani Navarro they work across Corporate Identity, Communication Strategy, Editorial Design, Illustration, Animation and Web projects.

A client list made up of councils, museums, cinemas and other brands allow the studio to continue to produce an impressive portfolio of work with charm, talent and ability.

Alex Trochut

Alex Trochut

Alex Trochut was born in 1981 in Barcelona and studied Graphic design at Elisava. He started working as a freelance designer and illustrator in 2007.

Alex's style of work takes the modern notion of minimalism and flips it on its side. Renowned for technically exquisite type creations and designs, Trochut attributes his special connection with typography to his grandfather Joan Trochut — a typographer and the creator of a modular typographic and ornament system built in the 1940s.

His clients include Nike, British Airways, Coca-Cola, The Guardian, Wieden + Kennedy, Saatchi and Saatchi and Beautiful Decay.

Alex now lives between Brooklyn and Barcelona.

Berto Martinez

Berto Martinez

Berto Martínez is known for his photo-realistic illustrative style. His aquarelle illustrations show a wide range of interests from portraits, lifestyle, art, cinema, and fashion to social issues or interior design.

Berto has worked with the likes of Nike, FC Barcelona, Uniqlo and Ministry of Sound.

Berto produced the studio and designer illustrations for BCNMCR.

The exhibition will be held at TwentyTwentyTwo which is located at 20/22 Dale Street in the Northern Quarter of Manchester.

Talks

The talks by the studios will take place in the afternoon/early evening of Friday 28th March at the brand new Hallé Orchestra rehearsal space on Blossom Street, Ancoats, Manchester.
